Give Your Eyes Some TLC

Physician's Choice Eye Health Formula is a premium AREDS2 based formula which includes Lutemax 2020® a high potency extract of Lutein & Zeaxanthin, clinically shown to improve visual performance, & protect eyes against damaging blue light from digital devices.

Our advanced eye health formula goes beyond just supporting macular degeneration and builds off the AREDS 2 study recommended by the National Eye Institute based.

A rich complex activated formula of vitamins, Lutemax 2020® a naturally-derived marigold extract providing all three macular carotenoids with enhanced levels of lutein and zeaxanthin isomers at 5 to 1 ratio over normal lutein and zeaxanthin.

The majority of people are unaware of how harmful blue light from computers, cell phones, and other electronic devices can affect their eye's, sleep, and macular carotenoids. High-energy blue light from digital screens and energy-efficient lighting may lead to eye strain, fatigue, headaches and eventually vision loss

Physicians Choice Eye Health Formula provides some tender loving care to the human eye.

In today’s world, our eyes need more support than ever before.

Your Eyes Get Beat Up Every Day

You probably spend a lot of time each day using a computer, tablet or smartphone. The average adult spends 10.5 hours per day looking at a digital screen, and teens spend 9 hours on average.

This together with sunlight means your eyes are getting bombarded with high-energy blue light--and that’s not a good thing.

What is Blue Light?

Without getting too technical, Blue light rays are at one end of the visible light spectrum. Blue rays are the shortest wavelength but hold the highest energy of all the visible light rays.

This high-energy blue light penetrates deep into the eye and is known to harm the macula (the area surrounding the center of the retina that provides the keenest vision.)

Severe damage to the macula is known as macular degeneration—a condition where your central vision is distorted or completely lost.

In the long run, macular degeneration occurs when the eyes are subjected to long-term exposure to harmful elements like blue light.

In the short term, blue light could be causing you to have headaches and eye strain, which can be a precursor to more serious eye diseases.

You cannot avoid blue rays completely unless you live in a cave with no electronics.

The good news is there’s a solution to protecting your eyes against harmful blue light.

Our Solution

Physician’s Choice Eye Health Formula is a rich complex activated formula of vitamins, including the clinically proven Lutemax 2020®—a naturally-derived marigold extract that contains all three macular carotenoids (Lutein and high levels of both zeaxanthin isomers (RR- and RS [meso]-zeaxanthin.

A blue light clinical study determined Lutemax 2020® is clinically proven to support:

  • Reduced eye strain & fatigue
  • Reduced headaches
  • Improved visual performance
  • Improved contrast sensitivity
  • Improved visual processing speed

How It Works

Lutemax 2020® provides a unique combination of lutein and zeaxanthin isomers. You get higher levels of zeaxanthin isomers than most commercial formulas.

These zeaxanthin isomers along with lutein support visual health by acting as primary filters of high-energy blue light, thus protecting your eyes against oxidative stress and inflammation.

Our bodies do not produce lutein or zeaxanthin, which means we must consume all three macular carotenoids through our diet or supplements. You can consume lutein and RR-zeaxanthin in dark green leafy vegetables and yellow/orange fruits and veggies. RS-zeaxanthin is found in certain fish, like salmon, sardine and trout.

An easier way to make sure your eyes get these macular carotenoids is with the clinically proven Lutemax 2020® that’s included in the Physician's Choice Eye Health Formula ingredients.

As we age, making sure we get these nutrients grows in importance as our bodies begin to break down, making you vulnerable to age-related eye diseases.

That’s why Physician's Choice Eye Health Formula is an AREDS2 based formula.

AREDS2 Unpacked

AREDS2 was a study conducted from 2006 through 2012 that studied 4203 participants between ages 50 to 85 and the results were published in 2013.

The effects of adding lutein and zeaxanthin to the original AREDS formula provided some fascinating results:

Those running the study wanted to see if lutein and zeaxanthin could substitute for beta-carotene to lower the risk of lung cancer in current and former smokers.

You see, beta-carotene, lutein, and zeaxanthin all come from the same family of molecules that help plants absorb light while protecting them from damaging sunlight. A secondary analysis showed lutein and zeaxanthin can indeed substitute for beta-carotene as a supplement that significantly reduces the progression of severe macular degeneration.

A second study conducted in Germany found that supplementing with omega 3 fatty acids, antioxidants, lutein and zeaxanthin raised the density of pigmented (colored) cells in the retina where central vision is processed (the same area of the retina affected by macular degeneration.)

The Physician's Choice Eye Health Formula is based on the AREDS2 formula.

However, Physician’s Choice believes the Eye Health Formula provides better eye support with the inclusion of Lutemax2020®, a highly concentrated form of Lutein Zexhantian.

      Vision Support

Vision Support is a nutrient-rich supplement that supplies your body with essential vitamins and minerals that enhance eye health. Its active ingredients include vitamin C, vitamin E, Zinc, and Copper, all of which have been clinically proven to target age-related eye problems [1]. More specifically, Age-Related Eye Disease Studies (AREDS) have demonstrated that this combination of nutrients strengthens the eyes and hinders further vision loss for up to five years [2].

Vision Support also contains folate, which has protective properties for the eyes. In addition, the increased consumption of folate lowers the risk of age-related eye damage and vision loss, and it delays the progression of these types of issues for people who are already suffering from vision problems [3]. The addition of B12 to this formula also helps restore eye health, especially in individuals who are experiencing the early stages of vision loss [4].

Marigold is another powerful ingredient in Vision Support. It targets eye infections, hinders age-related and oxidative (toxin-induced) damage, and supports optimal vision by protecting delicate eye tissue from UV rays [5]. Marigold is also a rich source of lutein and it contains a small amount of zeaxanthin as well [6]. These two substances are antioxidants that filter out harmful UV light that may damage the eyes, and in doing so, protects and maintains the health of cells in the eyes. They also target harmful molecules that can damage the retina [1, 2, 7].

Due to these benefits, lutein and zeaxanthin have also been added to Vision Support. Clinical AREDS research even shows that 10 mg of lutein and 2 mg of zeaxanthin dramatically enhances eye health [1, 7]. Vision Support actually contains twice those amounts (Lutein 20 mg, Zeaxanthin 4 mg), making it an improved AREDS supplement.

Additional ingredients in this supplement include bilberry and grape seed, both of which support eye health. Bilberry, in particular, strengthens blood vessels in the eyes and helps promote better vision in those suffering from vision loss [8]. It even supports improved night vision by enhancing the production of eye pigment that helps the eyes adapt to the darkness. Grape seed also enhances blood flow to the eyes and protects the eye’s cells from toxin damage.

Finally, Vision Support contains black pepper, which is a powerful mineral that enhances the body’s ability to absorb nutrients [9]. More specifically, it promotes faster absorption of nutrients in the gastrointestinal tract and decreases the time it normally takes for nutrients to travel through the digestive tract. It also prevents nutrients from being broken down the first time they pass through the liver. This means that adding black pepper to this supplement helps ensure that the most active forms of each ingredient will be transported to the cells and tissue in the eyes.

Overall, Vision Support contains scientifically and clinically proven ingredients that strengthen the eyes, target age-related eye problems, and help restore better vision. By taking just two easy to swallow capsules daily, you’ll be able to experience the benefits of optimal eye health.
