Is Physician’s Choice legit?
Yes, and you can check each fact behind that answer yourself. The company is named in our Terms of Service, our products are sold through 10 official retail partners including Walmart, Target, CVS and Costco, every lot of every product is tested for purity and potency at ISO/IEC 17025-accredited labs, and our phone number and support email are published on our contact page.1,2,3,7
Two more points to know. Our products are not FDA approved, because the FDA does not approve dietary supplements before they are sold.6 And the next section sets out, in our own words, what our name does and does not mean.
Does the name mean doctors recommend Physician’s Choice?
No. Physician’s Choice is our brand name, not a claim that doctors recommend or endorse our products. Talk with your healthcare provider before adding a new supplement or making changes to your health routine. When we say “developed with doctors,” we mean our products are developed in collaboration with the doctors on the Physician’s Choice Scientific Advisory Board.
On our site, the mark ◊ after “developed with doctors” points to the same definition in the footer: “Developed with our Scientific Advisory Board.”4
Who develops Physician’s Choice formulas?
Our products are developed with our Scientific Advisory Board, which meets quarterly to discuss, review and approve our formulations. Our Scientific Advisory Board page introduces the board and links 7 member profile pages, each with that member’s background in full.4 Articles in our Journal are reviewed by Hayley Miller, MS, RDN, LD.
Where is Physician’s Choice sold?
On physicianschoice.com and through 10 official retail partners: Amazon, TikTok Shop, Walmart, Target, CVS, Sam’s Club, Costco, GNC, H-E-B and iHerb.2 Costco carries 60 Billion Probiotic Advanced only, and iHerb ships outside the United States. Our where-to-buy page shows how to shop each one and links our store finder, where you can search by ZIP code.2
The safest way to get a genuine product, that page says, is to buy directly from physicianschoice.com or from a retailer it lists.2
How are Physician’s Choice products made and tested?
All of our manufacturers are required to operate in FDA-registered facilities that comply with FDA’s current good manufacturing practice (cGMP) requirements. FDA regulations require supplement manufacturers to follow current good manufacturing practices (cGMPs) to help ensure their products meet standards for identity, purity, quality, strength, and composition. Every lot of every product is tested for purity and potency at ISO/IEC 17025-accredited labs, the international standard for testing-lab competence.3
Our page Is Physician’s Choice third-party tested? covers the rest: what the tests check, the stages of quality control and the other ingredients on four of our labels, word for word.3
Is Physician’s Choice FDA approved?
No. The FDA does not approve dietary supplements before they are sold, but it does regulate their safety, manufacturing, and labeling. Like all dietary supplements, Physician’s Choice products are subject to these requirements, not FDA approval. The FDA’s own consumer guide says the same: the agency does not have the authority to approve dietary supplements for safety and effectiveness, or to approve their labeling, before they are sold.6
Under federal law, companies that manufacture or sell dietary supplements are responsible for ensuring their products are safe and properly labeled. Our page Is Physician’s Choice FDA approved? walks through what the FDA does and does not do, step by step.5
